چکیده

This study predicted the motion response and power performance of a floating wind turbine system equipped with semisubmersible Taida platform, an IEA 15 MW turbine, 3 × 2 mooring design in Hsinchu offshore area Taiwan Strait. The hydrodynamic properties were calculated using ANSYS-AQWA STAR-CCM+. equations solved by OrcaFlex to obtain generator power, as well dynamics aerodynamics turbine. waves assumed share same direction wind. compared mean values standard deviations response, line tension between potential- viscous-flow approaches considering combination seven directions four current under two wave conditions area. numerical prediction shows that viscous effect has larger impact on heave, roll, pitch motions. angle leading dominant Strait, which comes from northeast, should be 120° 180° order deliver relatively favorable system.

Effect of Platform Surge Motion on the Performance of 5MW NREL Offshore Floating Wind Turbine

In this study, an unsteady aerodynamic simulation is performed to realize the influences of platform surge motion on the aerodynamic performance of a high capacity offshore floating wind turbine. A dynamic model with pitch angle control system is utilized to propose a more realistic model of wind turbine and also achieve the rated condition of the rotor. The transient effect of platform surge m...

Individual Blade Pitch Control of a Floating Offshore Wind Turbine on a Tension Leg Platform

A disturbance accommodating controller (DAC) to reject wind speed perturbations is applied on a 5MW wind turbine mounted on a tension leg platform (TLP). Multi-blade coordinate (MBC) transformation is used to address the periodicity of the floating wind turbine system. A method to apply DAC after applying MBC transformation is developed and several implementation options are presented. Simulati...

Computationally Inexpensive Approach for Pitch Control of Offshore Wind Turbine on Barge Floating Platform

Offshore floating wind turbine (OFWT) has gained increasing attention during the past decade because of the offshore high-quality wind power and complex load environment. The control system is a tradeoff between power tracking and fatigue load reduction in the above-rated wind speed area. In allusion to the external disturbances and uncertain system parameters of OFWT due to the proximity to lo...

Performance based assessment of offshore wind turbine platform using the constrained new wave method

The purpose of this study is to provide a more accurate and practical method than static and spectral methods to assess the offshore wind turbines that are loaded with both wave and wind time history, the structure is evaluated by increasing the load intensity in successive steps to the stage of failure and the performance of the platform in different wave patterns are investigated. In this stu...
